Psychological testing during interviews are worthless

Psychological tests given to interviewees are often a series of repetitive, ridiculous questions that ultimately lead to this all important conclusion: This test is a joke.

The purpose of psychological and personality tests during interviews are to prevent organizations from hiring unsuitable candidates. Like the mental instability portrayed by Michael Douglas in Falling Down. However, these tests cannot possibly be effective for the organizations that use these tests during the interview process. The cost, the inability to accurately determine any psychological issues, and the number of good candidates who are looked over because of an ineffective test overshadow the few cases in which these tests may prove correct (never).
